As a visitor to Mt. Hope Estates & Winery, whether for the traditional Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire (weekends mid-August through October, including Labor Day Monday), or the Celtic Fling Weekend, you can see Wellcat Herbs' beautiful gardens (featuring a wide variety of 16th century herbs) and purchase any of the many retail items, including live plants. The Rising Sun: Wellcat Herbs has just begun A New Adventure at the PA Renaissance Faire, and here's some more information about it! Proprietor of Wellcat Herbs, Ruth Royknown to faire-goers as Mistress Ruthgladly offers gardening advice, information on how to harvest, preserve & use herbs, as well as a tale or two on the folklore & magic of herbs and spices. Ruth has taught a number of herb classes at the local community college & will soon be offering classes at other locations, including field trips to her Renaissance Herb Garden. To be on the mailing list for future herb classes, please email info@wellcat.com. Mistress Ruth finally succumbed to a "vanity photo" and here she is getting ready for a recent production at Lebanon Community Theatre (a wonderful thing to do when there is too much snow at the PA Renaissance Faire).
At the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire, you will find performance art as much a part of the presentation as the herbal products themselves. In short, a visit to the Herb Garden & Apothecary is a total interactive experience. Mistress Ruth is always there, providing gardening tips, tales of folklore & secrets to making the best & longest lasting potpourri, as well as how to harvest & use herbs for cooking. We will soon include more details about these events, as well as more information about herb classes to be offered this spring. Please don't hesitate to send us a note requesting a particular product or general information. Contact us: info@wellcat.com. |
