It's almost Christmas 2007. If I ever find the stockings, they will be hung by the chimney with care.. Our entire web site (still) needs to updated, so be sure to email us (info@wellcat.com) or call us (717-685-1219) if you have any immediate questions about products or upcoming events. The 2007 season at the PA Renaissance was wonderful. We had rain dates, there were regular "surprises" of shipments gone astray or missed communications: in short, it was a slice of real life amidst merry old England and there were enough smiles of good cheer to last through the long winter months ahead.

Thank you, every single one of you, patrons, staff, fellow merchants and artisans, for another season of magic. Mistress Ruth

Cheers any may you all have a grand 2008. Remember: it's merely a state of mind, my dear!

The 2007 season at the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire was, as always, quite an adventure. The Rising Sun, aptly named, captured my heart with its many challenges and various rewards. It has become my magical little workshop for the many products sold  across the lane at my Herb Garden & Apothecary, so there were chaotic moments when, with thousands of patrons enjoying a fine Faire day, Mistress Ruth would be seen racing across the lane between these 2 shops, hoping to find an elusive bottle of Spearmint Oil, wondering how on earth so many dream pillows could disappear from the shelves of The Rising Sun (who knew they'd actually be so popular!), and longing for those special moments of simple conversation with a patron about the merits of growing chocolate mint. I was honestly amazed that no matter how much I made, packaged, conjured and invented, right up to the final day of our Faire season, it was never enough. "What do you mean, we're sold out of Chai Tea!? We just packaged 30 bags of it! More Pirate's Passion? I know it's my best selling potpourri, but I made 6 gallons of it this morning!"

Ah, the overwhelming joy of staying up half the night or rising at dawn to keep on creating that which the public desires.

Truly, one of the finest personal rewards for me this season, was watching the sun rise over my Herb Garden & Apothecary. I would stand at the door of my new shop, The Rising Sun, savoring the stillness and freshness of morning dew and bird song. I know of nothing else that matches, collectively, those wonderful mornings which were the prelude to many a day at the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire.

So, you want more Seventh Sojourn soap? We have it! More Dream Pillows? We'll make them!
