Incense & Exotic Resins,  Smudge Sticks & Herbs ~~ whether stick, cone or loose -- to be smoldered over charcoal . . . 

Since ancient times, native peoples the world over have used burning herbs to purify space and one another. As the smoke from these herbs fills a space and encircles those present, providing them with a shared sensual experience, it has many effects, both individually and collectively. It is not only a signal for the mind to be still and present in the moment, it is a demarcation of time, announcing, as it were, that sacred time is beginning.  The smudge stick is lit and often rests in an abalone shell as it smolders.

Sage represents cleansing & purifying properties, cedar is a balancer of body, mind & spirit.  These and other herbs can be used as a sacred tradition for ritual or soothing entertainment and relaxation.

Incense comes in many scents and, while it burns more quickly than Smudge Sticks, it brings an equal pleasure to the mind & senses. Known typically as "combustible" incense--whether in stick or cone--and, if kept properly free of dampness, lights easily and burns freely.

    Each of these exotic essences has a unique scent even without the benefit of embers from a sizzling charcoal. To fully savor the robust essence, however, you'll need miniature charcoals which, once heated glowing hot, can be sprinkled liberally with the resin of your choice. When one or more resin is combined, the scent becomes a complex synergy for ritual or relaxation.  Carry them in a special Charm Bottle for good luck or magic powers.
