Made Easy: Ideas You Can Use!
Here's a brief view of typical uses for essential oils. This list is followed by some suggestions for various methods of use and application. An even more complete reference guide follows the notes on use and application.
Essential oils--being the true concentrated essence of the plant material from which they are derived--are potent; thus, while some might seem a bit costly, you will find that even a drop or two can create a remarkable effect. Synergy--the magic of one plus one becoming something even more effective than each single element--is often the real secret behind aromatherapy's art.

Aromatherapy: Methods of Use & Application
Massage: add
10-12 drops of essential oil to an ounce of massage oil (Sweet Almond, Apricot
Kernel, Grapeseed, Hazelnut, etc.)
Bath: add
3-8 drops of essential oil to the water just before immersing yourself.
Suggested essential oils: Bergamot, chamomile, Frankincense, Geranium,
Jasmine, Lavender, Neroli, Palmarosa, Rose, Tangerine, Ylang Ylang
Steam Vapor Inhalation: Use 5-12 drops of essential oil in 2-4 cups of water. Boil water, cool it
for a minute, then add desired oil(s). Cover your head and pan of water with
large towel, close your eyes and inhale vapor deeply for a few minutes. Or,
inhale vapors directly from bottle, from a few drops placed on small
handkerchief or your pillow.
Spray Mist/Air Refresher: Mix 10-20 drops of essential oil in spray bottle with purified water
(shake well before each use). Lavender & Pine and all of the citrus oils
are particularly uplifting & refreshing. Juniper, Lavender, Peppermint
& Rosemary are excellent for clearing negative energies. Eucalyptus,
Lavender, Rosemary & Tea Tree are powerful antiseptic oils for eliminating
airborne bacteria during illness.
Skin Care: Essential
oils easily penetrate into the underlying layers of the skin, promoting
regeneration & rejuvenation of skin cells. For facial cleansers, toners,
oils & lotions mix 10-15 drops total per one ounce of liquid. Do not apply
essential oils undiluted directly to the skin.
